It is a very peaceful location with plenty of wildlife just outside the front stable door. Pheasants, squirrels, hares, deer, owls, house martins can all be seen on a regular basis.
The Cottage is one of the highest properties in East Ayrshire and as such there are stunning views of Arran and even the "Paps" of Jura on a clear day.
There are many things to do in the surrounding area with numerous restaurants and tourist attractions such as Culzean Castle and Dumfries House a short drive away.
The Isle of Arran is a popular day trip with the ferry only taking 55 minutes.
Turnberry, Prestwick and Troon offer beaches and dog friendly cafe's as well as Open golf venues..
The Cottage
Dating back to the 1700's Blackside Cottage is situated at the end of a farm track which ensures peace and tranquillity.
Guests have access to 9 acres of private land including an enclosed field for off the lead dog walking. The surrounding farmland and moors offer "on the lead" walks in every direction and from the summit of Blacksidend Hill you will enjoy panoramic views from Glasgow to Dumfries and Galloway.
What to Expect
We want you to have the perfect stay.
The kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal. There is a dishwasher, washer dryer as well as a Nespresso coffee machine, large fridge freezer and state of the art Smeg range cooker with electric hob and oven.
The thermostatic controlled central heating is complimented with a cosy wood burner.
Upstairs, there is luxurious king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom with large roll top bath for relaxing soaks after a long walk.
