There are cafes/restaurants in the nearest towns and we had excellent meals in Troon (half an hour away)We love dogs but don't have one ourselves and this cottage would be perfect for them, very practical. Loved our stay at Blackside, the cottage was immaculate and beautifully decorated, it honestly felt like a home not just somehwere to stay for a few days. Undoubtedly the Best...

We have just returned from our stay at the cottage and it is undoubtedly the best Airbnb we have ever stayed in. It was our first trip with our dog and young baby and we had a wonderful time! Andrew and Elizabeth were extremely welcoming hosts who were always happy to offer suggestions of places to eat and where to visit. The cottage is simply stunning and is equipped with everything you could need - the little touches for doggy guests were above and beyond! From the comfortable bed to the cosy log burner and stunning views it really does have it all. Thank you for a wonderful trip - we’ll definitely be back and can’t recommend it enough!

We Thoroughly Enjoyed Our Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blackside Cottage. The cottage is located on a beautiful farm in picturesque surroundings. The cottage is spacious but also feels cozy, especially with the wood burner going. It was lovely to see the deer in the paddock at sunrise. The bed is large and comfortable. There’s plenty of linen and towels and all amenities are as listed and are easy to operate. The kitchen is fabulous for cooking with plenty of cookware available. We went to GRO Coffee in Ayr and it was great. We also toured about some of the smaller villages and visited the Spirit of Scotland monument, which was great. Communication was Elizabeth was very easy and she was very kind and thoughtful. We had a great welcome pack waiting when we arrived. We’d love to return one day, Thanks Elizabeth and Andrew.

Perfect Home From Home

Beautiful cosy cottage with everything you could need. Kitchen is very well stocked with pots pans and utensils. Great dishwasher and washing machine . Lounge sofas very comfortable. Amazing

We had such an amazing and peaceful few days at Blackside Cottage. Elizabeth and Andrew were the perfect hosts, and the cottage is absolutely beautiful. The cottage is really comfortable, private, cosy and warm. It is the perfect place for relaxing after a nice walk. The log fire and open plan living space downstairs makes for a really nice place to hang out. The kitchen is really well equipped, for those that like cooking you'll be in your element. The bedroom and bathroom were beautifully clean and well furnished, with the bath overlooking the fields in front of the cottage. We can't wait to come back soon, to relax and enjoy the cottage and local area.

Beautiful cottage with everything we could have asked for provided. We enjoyed a day on Arran catching the ferry from Troon, however the cosy cottage could have kept you entertained for the whole stay. A bit of a drive for local amenities so bare this in mind for your stay, we stocked up ready for the week by stopping at a supermarket. Thank you!

Wonderful

Wonderful cottage in beautiful surroundings. The cottage was very relaxing and a great break away. Elizabeth and Andrew left us some lovely treats and plenty of wood for the burner, which we made good use of. They also left us to it, but responded quickly if we ever had any questions.
